Gastric Band and weight loss

A good friend of mine has recently had a gastric band fitted and has started a blog to show her progress and tell the world exactly how it feels to have one, day by day. It's a great blog and I am really excited about seeing the progress over the next year.

RIP Veronica

Just last week I went into Pets at Home, a local pet store, to buy some dog treats with my niece. I just had a peep at the hamsters they had (I love hamsters) and instantly fell in love with a beautiful Syrian; so much so, that I went against all my personal morals about buying animals from P@H and I bought her!!

And.... of course, my morals were right. She caught wet tail from another hamster in the tank and was very ill. I had only had her for one week, the last two days of which, were spend syringe feeding her evrery half an hour and she had to have two injections. Sadly she died yesterday morning on her 9 week old birthday. She put up such a fight and I am so proud of her.

I can't believe that I can love a hamster so much after such a short time, but I am so distraught and miss her so so much. I am part of a hamster forum and would just like to share some of the kind messages the other members sent me:

You know what Lizzie, the reason she was walking around is because she knew she was called and she wanted to say her last goodbye and thank you for the happiness you gave her and the love you shared. Her path was gentle and one day a long time in the future you will meet again at the bridge where she is playing now.When the time is right for you, and you are the most perfect hamster mamma, so never doubt that let me know and I will help you locate a breeder. You can never replace a little one but you can allow another into your heart to be treasured like Veronica was. Her short life has touched many hearts. Play well VeronicaXXX

Lizzie, for the short time you and Veronica had together you were the perfect mummy to her. You took her away from the horrible pet shop and gave her a loving home. She would be so grateful for that. You did your very best to help her through but it was just her time to go to the bridge and play freely with all the others. You will see her again Thinking of you xx

Dear Lizzie I am so sorry to read that Vernonica died last night. That little one loved you as much as you did her - she held on for as long as she could to be with you and she appreciated the effort you went to help her at that time. She kept breathing until you fell asleep as she wanted to be with you. She now has and is everything you ever wanted for her. She's playing happy and healthy and will be waiting for the time you see each other again. When you fall in love with a little one - you never really part. You take that love with you wherever you go and the face that you see in your dreams and in your heart, with whiskers twitching and eyes twinkling back at you will always be hers. I am sending you lots of hugs.sugaxx

this is the only photo I got of her when she was happy. As she was so new I didn't want to bombard her with snappy photos until she was a bit older... :(

This picture ,which I can't get to turn the right way, was taken when she was very ill. She has lost the use of body from the middle down and was close to death.

I miss her so much. XXX

Tattoo Galore

I absolutely love tattoos and for years I have wanted one that starts from my shoulder and works its way down my side to my lower back. My boyfriend hates tattoos though, so I have held off for a while. That doesn't stop me collecting hundreds of photos of tattoos though!!

What do you think? Some of those I wouldn't get on myself, but I still like them. I would go for more feminine really. Thin lines.

Well, well, well, I have just come across the most perfect lady ever, lol! I took one look at a pic of her and decided then and there that I am going to aspire to look like her. Granted I will never be anywhere near as pretty as her, but I can try my hardest! She has huge lips and I have the total opposite, so unless I get injections that wont happen!

Amnesty International.... it's got me thinking

I have a new module at uni that's all about spirituality, knowledge and beliefs. We were told to watch a video as part of our homework (the video below). Honestly now, I was entranced and have watched it over and over again. I think it's the music as much as anything that keeps me watching it over.

'I wish the world was like it says,' I thought. That's when I realised that Amnesty International is trying to make it exactly like that. So, why aren't I a member and doing things to help?

P.S - I've done my make-up for the party, will take some photos later. I couldn't get my false eyelashes on though, so it's not as great as the girl did it. x

Sexy Pin-Up Make-Up

I'm going to a party tonight and really fancied going all out with my make-up. I was searching through hundreds of tutorials on youtube and finally came across this lady. She is amazing at doing her make-up and is beautiful. The style I have decided to try, isn't what I was really going for to start with, but I'm going to go for it now.

I'll post a photo or two up when I have some from the party. Time to go and try it out now.... yay!

Pretty Dresses

I love pretty dresses, so I decided to try and make a couple. The first one is just a plain black galaxy dress with lovely lacey sleeves. I would team it with a belt although I haven't on the photos below. The second dress is a gorgeous little polka dot mini dress, it's such a lovely fit too. The photo for this one is awful, I will have to take some better ones soon.

So what do you think? A good first (and second) attempt at making dresses? I would like to think so really. The night I wore the polka dot dress out, I had so many comments off people about how nice it was, so thats positive!
